Mr. Allen has been a Special Event Planner on behalf of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to produce the regional Awards of Excellence events in several U.S. markets.
As the Event Director for the (NJ) County of Union’s “Rhythm & Blues By The Brook” Musicfest and “Jersey Jazz By The Lake” Festivals he facilitated several annual concert-festival events and increased crowds to over 12,000 attendees. Duties included talent selection and management, transportation and logistics for all entertainment and technical staff, event logistics, security coordination with law enforcement, and stage production. Mr. Allen handled the event management, planning, and on-site coordination for the Audi SAVOY Jazz Unwrapped and the Audi / Black Enterprise Jazz Festival, with responsibility for all event logistics and production. This event involved indoor and outdoor stages in Houston, TX and at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ. Consulting and directing the Internal Client & Event Operations staff, Mr. Allen maintained optimal guest service and executive protection for 2,000 high-level VIPs/ celebrities/music & fashion industry attendees of the VIBE Magazine Music Seminars at the Marriott Marquis, Waldorf Astoria, NY Hilton and Jacob Javitts Center venues.
Mr. Allen formulated the Food and Wines From France fully integrated event marketing plan for their New Product Category introductions in the Metro NYC/NJ markets conducting over 1,000 event days (wine tastings, special events). Utilizing his expertise in growth markets, he orchestrated the transition and execution of numerous daily events for the Seagram Americas/Absolut Vodka national event production/trade marketing program to help deliver a portion of the $3.2BN global vodka market.
Earning a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Hampton University, Mr. Allen completed graduate work in the Event Leadership Executive Certificate Program at Temple University. He was a member of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners and has successfully worked with a variety of industry leaders.
